At the beginning of this season, these ladies expressed a desire to take their program to the next level! I am so proud to say they did just that! They lead with understanding, grace, and above all by example! They pushed themselves and their team on and off the court, showing determination, passion, and tenacity! We couldn't be more proud of our seniors and we cannot wait to see the amazing things they do in the future! The Lady Panther Volleyball program will miss you greatly!!

Oakwood Panthers defeated the Fannindel Falcons today to secure the District Championship! The final score was 66-31! Congratulations, Panthers on a job well done! On to the next round! Game date and site will be announced soon! #TPW
Panther Nation! Those Lady Panther are built TOUGH!! I am relieved to announce that all of our girls are safe with only minor injuries! Not even a reckless driver can stop these girls from powering through this region! In times of trouble, there is nothing I'd rather be than a Panther! We show up for our community with such powerful support and love! Our victory celebration was cut short last night, but let's hear it for the Area Champions, The Oakwood Lady Panthers!!
Lady Panthers Update:
I wanted to give everyone an update after the scary events last night. It was a very long night, but all of the girls and Coach Knox were checked out and cleared early this morning. Coach McGowan is getting some rest and is also doing well. We did have one Lady Panther with a broken collarbone, and lots of bumps and bruises with the rest of the players, but we are so thankful for the protection that the Lord placed about our students last night. The driver of the car that ran the red light was also uninjured, and was actually trying to help our kids out after the accident. His car was totaled, and we are assuming the worst for the van as well.
A huge thank you to all of the first responders from Corsicana, Dr. Johnson and Coach Johnson, as well as all of the Oakwood parents that circled the wagons to make sure all of our kids were well taken care of. Many stayed well into the early morning hours to make sure that everyone was ok. We are so grateful for everyone that helped out last night in a very stressful situation. A special thank you to the Corsicana School Board member who prayed for our kids after they were taken in the ambulance. Seeing a group of people, many of who are strangers to each other, come together and pray to the Lord for the safety and healing of our students after the accident is not something that I will ever forget. Thank you!
These are the types of situations that you dread getting a call about, but I cannot state enough how blessed we were last night. Keep the Lady Panthers in your prayers for a quick recovery and complete healing, they are still chomping at the bit to get back on that court and get back to the volleyball playoffs! Thank you for all of the calls, texts, and prayers! We appreciate them all!
