Lady Panthers Update:
I wanted to give everyone an update after the scary events last night. It was a very long night, but all of the girls and Coach Knox were checked out and cleared early this morning. Coach McGowan is getting some rest and is also doing well. We did have one Lady Panther with a broken collarbone, and lots of bumps and bruises with the rest of the players, but we are so thankful for the protection that the Lord placed about our students last night. The driver of the car that ran the red light was also uninjured, and was actually trying to help our kids out after the accident. His car was totaled, and we are assuming the worst for the van as well.
A huge thank you to all of the first responders from Corsicana, Dr. Johnson and Coach Johnson, as well as all of the Oakwood parents that circled the wagons to make sure all of our kids were well taken care of. Many stayed well into the early morning hours to make sure that everyone was ok. We are so grateful for everyone that helped out last night in a very stressful situation. A special thank you to the Corsicana School Board member who prayed for our kids after they were taken in the ambulance. Seeing a group of people, many of who are strangers to each other, come together and pray to the Lord for the safety and healing of our students after the accident is not something that I will ever forget. Thank you!
These are the types of situations that you dread getting a call about, but I cannot state enough how blessed we were last night. Keep the Lady Panthers in your prayers for a quick recovery and complete healing, they are still chomping at the bit to get back on that court and get back to the volleyball playoffs! Thank you for all of the calls, texts, and prayers! We appreciate them all!

JH Football Update: The JH Football game vs Apple Springs will now be played in Oakwood at Panther Stadium Friday at 5:30 ahead of the varsity game. The varsity game will now move back to a 7:30 pm start time. If there are any further changes we will post it to the website. Go Panthers!!
JH Football Update: The Jr High Football game at Apple Springs scheduled for 6 pm has been cancelled due to the weather and the field unplayable. We are currently looking for a game for next week and will keep you updated. Go Panthers!!
