Greetings!

As the principal of Oakwood High School, it is my sincere pleasure and honor to serve the community of Oakwood, Texas. I am truly honored to join the leadership team at Oakwood ISD, and I look forward to working with each of you to provide the best possible educational program for our students.

I bring over 22 years of experience as an educator and youth advocate to Oakwood ISD. In those 22 +years, I have provided challenging, creative, real-world experiences for my students. As an administrator, I have provided structure, discipline, and a good example for all of my students.

I received my doctorate degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in May 2017. My dissertation entitled ‘Up from Poverty: A Narrative Non-fiction Study of Three Female Superintendents from Poverty’, received the Dissertation of the Year Award from the Texas Council of Professors of Educational Administration.

It is my desire to develop a strong, trusting relationship with all stakeholders in the Oakwood Community and together, we will continue to establish the tradition of academic excellence for all of our students. I look forward to meeting all parents, students, and community member in the near future. I am truly honored for this opportunity and look forward to providing a rigorous, relevant, and engaging program for our students to excel and become productive citizens.
